Is my Therapist/Counsellor accredited and qualified to counsel us or me?

Yes, Jenny is a Registered Counsellor and Clinical Member (C0540) with the Singapore Association for Counselling since 2021 and a Registered Social Service Practitioner (RSSP-0157) with the Singapore Association of Social Workers since 2012.

She holds relevant qualifications in Marital and Family Therapy, Counselling for Adults, Adolescents, or Children, Sandplay Therapy and Symbol Work (for Adult or Child), Clinical Supervision, and adopts a Systemic and Emotion-Focused approach along with other therapeutic modalities.

Jenny is also a practicing Counsellor for over a decade to Couples, Families, and Individuals of all ages in various settings including a Marital, Divorce, and Family Counselling Centre, Family Service Centres, and a Rehabilitative Youth Work and Family Centre.

How do I know if I need Counselling?

Counselling can be beneficial for anyone experiencing Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Issues, Caregiving Concerns, Grief, or any other Life Challenges. If you are feeling stuck or overwhelmed, talking to a counsellor can allow you to feel Understood, Provide Clarity, and Garner Emotional Support.

Who can attend Counselling?

We offer In-Person Counselling sessions to Couples, Families, and Individuals including Adult, Adolescent, or Child. In-Person Sandplay Therapy is also available for Individual Adult, Adolescent, or Child aged 6 years old and above. Clinical Supervision is provided to Counsellors seeking Supervision and clarity in their Counselling work.

What are your Counselling Operating Hours?

Counselling
Monday to Sunday: 9am to 9pm
(Last Counselling appointment is at 8pm).

Sandplay Therapy
Monday to Friday: 9am to 5pm
(Last Sandplay Therapy appointment is at 4pm).

All Counselling and Sandplay Therapy sessions are conducted In-Person and their date and timing are by appointment only and subject to availability.

Pricing and Pro-Rated Charges
All prices are nett.

Pro-Rated Charges will apply as follows
Couple Therapy and Family Therapy: $100 per 30 minutes.
Individual Psychotherapy, Child-Focused Therapy, and Sandplay Therapy: $90 per 30 minutes.
Clinical Supervision: $75 per 30 minutes.

How do I pay for Counselling Sessions?

Please make payment in advance via PayNow, either by scanning the QR Code under (Fees - Payment Mode) found in this webpage, or to UEN: 53498415X to secure your Counselling session after confirmation of your preferred date and time.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

If you would like to cancel or postpone your appointment, kindly notify us via WhatsApp: +65 9388 3638 OR Email: jenny@psychestory.sg at least 24 hours in advance.
A $50 cancellation fee will be applied for no-show, cancellation, or postponement on your booking time slot, if there is no notification at least 24 hours in advance.
This cancellation fee must be paid before your next counselling session.

Counselling Appointment
Session start time will be based on your booked time slot. If you are more than 20 minutes late, it will be considered to be a non-refundable and no-show session.
The counsellor is not required under any circumstances to extend the session beyond the scheduled end time. The session will end as per the arranged duration timing.

Is Counselling kept Confidential?

Yes. all information shared by you is kept confidential with the exception when the information is subpoenaed by Court or authorities and when we make an assessment that you pose a risk to yourself or others.

What can I expect from my First Counselling Session?

It is absolutely normal to feel anxious during your first counselling session. Typically, the first session would be an intake session and the purpose is to understand your background and therapeutic goals for counselling. During counselling sessions, you can expect a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment where you can openly discuss your concerns.

How many Counselling Sessions do I need to attend?

Every Couple, Family, Individual, or Child have differing therapeutic goals for their counselling sessions, therefore, every person is different with regards to their perception and progress towards counselling.

Hence, it is not possible to predict the number of sessions you need to attend. The number of sessions required vary due to evolving goals and needs during the process of therapy and you can discuss with your Counsellor regarding the frequency of sessions that fit your goals and needs.
